Nice to meet you!
Hi, I'm Chelsea! Watercolor artist, stationary designer, cat mom and nature enthusiast. I spend my days working with plants at a local landscaping company, but the rest of my time is spent painting and hanging out with my wonderful husband and three cats in my backyard garden here the Chicago suburbs.
Growing up I always loved painting and took basically every art class that I could convince my parents to sign me up for. Learning how to make new things is the best! At some point, I decided to (re)try my hand at watercolors and have loved them ever since. Fun Fact: It was actually one of my least favorite mediums in middle/high school because it took too long to dry and I didn’t have the patience, oh how times have changed!
The thing I love most about painting is the ability to capture all the tiny details and quirks that make everything and everyone unique! The details are what make each of our stories one-of-a-kind and whether it be a custom painting, wedding invitation or calligraphy, I want to capture those details for YOU!
A few more tidbits about me...
1) I’m a former Anthropologie display coordinator, it was my dream to be able create art and still have a regular pay check and health insurance (hello adulting). While I’m happy to have moved on, I learned a lot of great skills and met so many amazing and talented people along the way.
2) My veggie/herb garden is my happy place. I start at least 30 varieties of plants from seed every year (my husband has great patience for me and the 100 plants around the house from March-May). If you every want to have a seed swap let me know!
3) Olives are the best food (ok, maybe it’s a tie with my love of funfetti). They have been my favorite since I was a baby and were one of my first words - I called them “balahs”.
